We love our volunteers! The Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines Festival simply would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers that jump in and carry us through Big Beers weekend each year. You are absolutely appreciated.

Volunteers for the Big Beers Festival can earn complimentary or discounted admission to the Commercial Tasting (as well as an event t-shirt!) through their time and effort. Volunteer shifts include such options as coat check, homebrew competition judging/stewarding, pouring during the tasting, assisting with the seminars, etc. One volunteer shift will reduce your Commercial Tasting ticket cost to $35, and two shifts earn free admission. To volunteer to assist with Big Beers Festival programming, please contact Laura Lodge.

Please note: If you  are planning to sign up to volunteer, please do NOT purchase a Commercial Tasting ticket online or at local liquor stores. If you have any questions about this, please contact Laura Lodge.

As a volunteer, you are responsible for showing up for your shift to check in and be at your designated volunteer location at your scheduled time. We ask that you keep your alcohol consumption minimal and keep in mind that you are an event representative while you are working your volunteer shifts. Detailed information will be sent in advance of the festival by email, and you are responsible for any and all responsibilities affiliated with your volunteer position.

In appreciation for your time and effort, we will also admit all volunteers to the Commercial Tasting 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Please use the VIP/Volunteers line on the lower level (Breckenridge Ballroom via Lobby) for entry rather than the general admission entry. You will need to check in with the number of shifts you have worked prior to admission. If you have only worked one shift, you can pay the balance at that time.

Volunteers will not be welcome to return to work the Big Beers Festival for future events for the following reasons:

  • No call/email, no show for your shift
  • Excessive alcohol consumption
  • Irresponsible behavior
  • Failure to perform your volunteer responsibilities to an acceptable standard
  • Altercations with other volunteers, staff or attendees

Remember, you are the face of the Big Beers Festival as a volunteer. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions or need assistance with anything, and let attendees know that we will always do our best to make their experience exceptional.

Thank you once again for your support!
